Due to a few recent YouTube issues with people who think that I should do everything for free and attempted bombing runs on the forums here, I have changed the access to the rest of the forums so they are only accessible by people who have created an approved account here and are logged in.

Facts are facts, open source doesn’t always mean free.…[Read more]

  • I need segments for 64 4-foot towers, half 3×4 segments and half 3×3 segments.

What do you think about sealing them with clear lacquer since that is solvent based?

  • Thanks for the detailed clarification. If somebody else wants to take on the challenge of getting this done, I will happily work with them. But I personally do not have the time to spearhead this effort.

I’m a one man operation here, I have a full time job and I have zero rich friends (mainly because I don’t fit in with those kinds of people and…[Read more]

  • @richardtaylor you got any suggestions on this? I honestly have zero free time to put into a crowdfunding campaign with all of the stuff that I have going on. I just know that each part in the .gcode files will cost from $8000 to $15,000 to put into injection molding. I, personally don’t have ties with anybody that has pockets that deep.

Strange habit I have, I don’t video things while I’m trying to figure something out or the RAM in my camera will fill up. I just followed a number of the already-existing YouTube videos on the topic of bearing upgrades on the Wanhao Duplicator i3 Plus.

  • I’ve been experimenting with compost tea hydroponics (bioponics) for the past month and I’m real impressed so far. I’m just using worm compost in a paint strainer bag in 20 gallons of water with an air stone under it. I just add a cap full of pure ammonia to it every other week to replace the fish waste. So far I see no need to add molasses to it…[Read more]

  • Bird netting is definitely a good alternative to the foam media, if not better. The stuff shown in the picture below was purchased from Amazon for $12.85 and comes out of the bag as a 14’x1′ slab that is actually 45′ of netting folded up.

All I did is cut off 4″ from the slab and unwind it so I could wad it back up into a ball and stuff it in…[Read more]

It all comes down to being your own worst enemy and seeing Wordfence report countless brute-force attacks per hour (which kills the 1MB/sec IO throughput that Cpanel allows you to have).

Nginx can thwart the flood of attacks that I see hourly just by feeding people cached pages. I can knock over an Apache server so easy that it’s just a matter of…[Read more]

I do more than my share of AWS work as well, and here are the problems…I have yet to find anything offered by Amazon that puts their EC2 servers behind an Nginx proxy. Putting Nginx on the EC2 instance isn’t the answer. With all of these junk hosting providers offering nothing but a Cpanel plan that’s locked down to 1MB/sec of system IO…[Read more]
